Abstract

This review presents tissue microarray technique, a method that assembles multiple tissue samples from different paraffin blocks into a single recipient block, allowing simultaneous analysis under uniform experimental conditions. The aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of the history, applications, advantages, disadvantages, and prospects of this technique. Reference materials were collected from international publications, then synthesized and analyzed according to the main topics. Tissue microarray has many advantages such as resource saving, assay standardization, and enhanced efficiency, although it still has limitations regarding histological representativeness as well as technical demands and initial investment costs. Tissue microarray is an important tool in modern histopathology and needs to be invested in and widely applied in Vietnam.
