Abstract

Background: Low back pain due to spondylosis is a common musculoskeletal disease that is frequently encountered in clinical practice and tends to increase in modern society. Treatment of low back pain due to spondylosis of Jin’s 3 - needle technique and “Doc hoat tang ky sinh” remedy combine with cupping therapy has many positive clinical results. Objectives: To evaluate of treatment of low back pain due to spondylosis by Jin’s 3 - needle technique and “Doc hoat tang ky sinh” remedy combine with cupping therapy. Methods: A total of 40 patients with low back pain due to spondylosis treated by Jin’s 3 - needle technique and remedy combine with cupping therapy at Thua Thien Hue Traditional Medicine Hospital. The study was designed by the method of uncontrolled clinical trial study. The outcomes were assessed at baseline and after treatment. Results: After 18 days of treatment, VAS score decreased from 4.83 ± 1.647 to 1.98 ± 0.947 (p < 0.05), lumbar spine dilation increased from 2.23 ± 0.653 to 3.425 ± 0.516 (p < 0.05), lumbar spine range of motion increased from 1.98 ± 0.698 to 3.83 ± 0.385 (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Jin’s 3 - needle technique and “Doc hoat tang ky sinh” remedy combine with cupping therapy had a good effect in treatment of low back pain due to spondylosis
